One of the world’s leading authorities on Australian wine, Matthew Jukes, has released his annual 100 Best Australian Wines list; with Howard Park’s 2013 Riesling stacking up amongst Australia’s finest.
The UK-based wine expert releases his Top 100 wines each year at the London International Wine Fair, with the inclusion of Howard Park’s Riesling a first since the list’s inception in 2004.
"Three cheers for Howard Park Riesling - the WA Riesling revolution continues apace and this is the perfect candidate to remind you of just how amazing these wines are. Sourced from Mount Barker and Porongurup, in Great Southern, this is a bone dry, racy style but this time the fruit notes are slanted towards the lemon sherbet spectrum which makes it less combative on the palate than many in this section and more soothing and therapeutic. Aromatically this is a delight, too, with stunning wild flower notes, Sicilian lemons and muddled mint," Jukes said.
“Our philosophy is to produce wines with an uncompromising commitment to quality, and we are honoured that our Riesling has been recognised by one of the foremost Australian wine experts,” said Amy Burch, General Manager at Burch Family Wines, who produce the Howard Park range.
The 2013 Howard Park Riesling is produced from some of the best fruit the Mount Barker and Porongurup sub-regions of the Great Southern have to offer.
