In 2013, Burch Family Wines have made a significant contribution to SurfAid; a non-profit humanitarian organisation whose aim is to improve the health, wellbeing and self-reliance of people living in isolated regions connected to us through surfing.
Earlier in the year, Burch Family Wines formed two teams to enter into the SurfAid Corporate Cup Margaret River. One team was formed by Northern Margaret River wineries, and the other from Southern Margaret River wineries. Together, the Corporate Cup raised a total of more than $85,000 for SurfAid.
In March 2013, we raised $3000 for SurfAid at our annual Tropfest screening at the Margaret River winery through a raffle, donations and part-proceeds from bar wine sales on the evening.
On September 5, 2013, MadFish sponsored the Surfing Chefs WA event held at Must Wine Bar and this event raised $35,000.
With our help, this past year SurfAid built 332 clean water facilities in 62 remote communities and trained 543 local water committee members. Access to clean water helps promote improve hygiene and can save lives.
Burch Family Wines envisages to continue our support of SurfAid in 2014 to help build healthier and stronger communities in isolated regions.
