MadFish Wines are once again on a mission to raise much needed funds for SurfAid as part of the SurfAid Corporate Cup, which is being held in conjunction with the 2015 Margaret River Pro.
SurfAid is a non-profit humanitarian organisation whose aim is to improve the health, wellbeing and self-reliance of people living in isolated regions connected to us through surfing, such as the Mentawai Islands, Nias Island and Telo Island. The community based programs involve education in nutrition, hygiene, healthy environments and disease prevention.
The SurfAid Corporate Cup is a tag team style surfing contest, which aims to raise funds for SurfAid. There are four surfers per team, made up of people working in the wine industry, plus one pro/legend surfer from the selection pool. The teams who raise the most money prior to the Cup get to choose their pro surfer in order of their team’s fundraising results. Each team must reach a fundraising goal of $5,000. The team that raises the most will walk away with the SurfAid Cup fundraising trophy. This year our goal is to beat last year's total of $8089.00.
So, not only is this a great cause because every dollar that we raise helps SurfAid, but it will also affect our choice of pro surfer in the SurfAid Corporate Cup - and we need all the help we can get!
You can help this fantastic cause by heading to our official Everyday Hero fundraising page and donating. Every dollar helps, so please spread the word with your friends, family and colleagues and donate generously.
We are also running a silent auction for a surfboard signed by 2014 Margaret River Pro competitors including Kelly Slater, Mick Fanning, Joel Parkinson, Stephanie Gilmore and Laura Enever in our Margaret River cellar door. Click here for more info.
