The Age wine critic Ralph Kyte-Powell has reviewed the 2011 Howard Park Abercrombie Cabernet Sauvignon with an impressive 96 points, saying:

“Western Australian Cabernet Sauvignon is a modern classic, and flagship wines like this carry the flag proudly. Based on Margaret River grapes with input from Mount Barker, it’s a profound, almost immortal type of red, driven by concentrated blackcurrant, herb, violet, cedar and dark chocolate aromas of great power. The palate has typical austerity, yet there’s great depth and intensity of fruit woven through its tight structure of fine-grained tannins and tangy acidity. A wine for the future”
