An Exhibition by Jonathan Hook - Behind the Artist

We are thrilled to announce that our good friend, Jonathan Hook, will be presenting his upcoming collection of ceramic works at the Howard Park & MadFish Cellar Door, Margaret River. The partner of our long-serving Denmark Cellar Door Manager and MadFish Sparkling namesake, Vera Hook, Jonathan's pieces are inspired by the majesty and grandeur of the south coast landscape; beautifully elegant and timeless.

"My interest in clay started in 1972 at age 17. As a young artist, the isolation of this area enabled me to develop my own style," Jonathan said.

Jonathan's work encompasses many ranges in contemporary shapes and colour combinations. Timeless values of form and technique are the basis for design and manufacturing principles in the handcrafting of over 100 different shapes.

His inspiration and techniques are an eclectic combination of classic forms and structures from Europe and Asia. In addition to the 600 items of tableware, Jonathan crafts a range of vases and ceramic artworks.
