Soil:
Blend of three different plots on the Nuits-Saint-Georges side, right underneath Réas, directly under the village itself and in the Hautes-Mazières. The soils are limestone mixed with clayey marles. The depth varies from 10cm to 1m.
Vinification:
Harvested by hand. 20% whole clusters. Small cold maceration. 23 days of maceration with some pigeages and remontages.
Ageing:
40% of new barrels from Allier and Jupille forests (long light and gentle toast).
One racking during the ageing.
No filtration and fining.
Bottled in July 2011 on a fruit day.
All the ageing operations are carried out according to the lunar calendar.
Tasting Notes
Intense deep dark big wine with ripe red fruits, spice and charry oak notes. The youthful tannins provide a fine structure to amply counter the supple and thick fruit weight of the palate.
