Amy’s passion for all things Howard Park is immediately evident when you visit the wineries of Burch Family Wines in Margaret River and Denmark. Amy’s vision and enthusiasm have been the foundation on which she built Howard Park with her husband Jeff.
Amy’s first involvement originated in the marketing of Howard Park, MadFish and Marchand & Burch. Her networking and marketing skills combined with her attention to detail ensures that the Howard Park experience is always exactly as it is intended.
A mother of three adult children who are all involved in the family business, she weaves her current role as general manager into shaping the future for the success of the family wine company. Working closely with husband Jeff, this partnership is strong as they complement each other’s strengths.
Born in Singapore, Amy’s Chinese heritage influences her wine tasting experience to incorporate the appreciation of multitude of flavours offered in Asian foods, and this marries perfectly with the experiences and enjoyment of drinking wine. Flavour, balance and pleasure is the driver in the wines produced by Howard Park.
As well as a passion for producing wines of excellence, her eye for design is evident in the construction of both the Howard Park wineries in Margaret River and also the original winery in Denmark. Built along Feng Shui principles, the winery in Margaret River has achieved recognition for design excellence, standing as a modern Australian winery landmark. Recently, another building called the ‘Wine Chapel’ was a project Amy completed, adding to the variety of excellent opportunities in which visitors can taste wine and soak in pleasurable vinous experiences.
Amy travels around the world representing the family wine company as well as training young people in wine education and service. Recently she has travelled to the UK, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore, Canada and China promoting the range of wines produced by Burch Family Wines.
