The A.S.W is a stylistic departure for Howard Park, being a red blend of all Margaret River fruit, and the only wine with a significant use of American oak. A blend from the best Cabernet and Shiraz sites on the Leston vineyard, matured separately in French oak for 18 months, before blending and a further 2 months in American oak prior to bottling.
The 1.5L magnum format is ideal for collectors and provides the opportunity to cellar this wine long term and preserve its expressive fruit flavours and complex structure to celebrate a milestone occasion.

TASTING NOTE
Vintage
Intense blueberry, vanilla, chocolate, and dark cherry, supported by a hint of black olive and subtle cinnamon and anise seasoning. The palate is plush and brimming with powerful berry notes, intermingled with vanilla and coconut. Persistent flavours, fine ripe tannins, a lavish texture, and spice complexity have melded well to produce this opulent and luxuriant wine.
Food Match
Drink with kangaroo tartare, beetroot and saltbush, or with rich pasta dishes such as gnocchi with Gruyère, pear and walnut.
