Champagne Franck Bonville Brut Millesime Blanc de Blancs 2014 – 1.5L Magnum
The vintage cuvée represents the terroir of the Grand Cru village of Avize where the house and the majority of its plots are located. Chosen plots are vinified separately before blending and long lees ageing in underground cellars which brings forth the elegant and concentrated characters typical of this village and its elevated vineyards on the Côtes des Blancs slope.
The 1.5L magnum format offers the potential to express all the quality and complexity of the excellent 2014 vintage over an extended period in the cellar.
Avize Grand Cru
"Brought up from our cellars for the first time in July 2021 after more than 6 years on ageing, our Millésime 2014 is full of promises. A first nose with salty and brioche flavors already whispers the main characteristics of the wine. A smooth and fruity beginning reveals sweet aromas of acacia flowers, pastry and almonds. This sweet harmony slowly gives way to a mineral and minty freshness that characterizes the end. Gourmet and well balanced, this champagne witnesses a superb year and lets us guess a great ageing capacity."
Full-bodied for a young vintage, this wine could accompany roast poultry or even a well-cooked lamb shoulder.
Drink now or cellar until 2035.
