Olivier Bonville is the fourth generation of vine-growers and the third Recoltant-Manipulant grower-producer to passionately tend his 6 hectares of Grand Cru Chardonnay in the Côtes-de-Blancs villages of Avize, Oger, and Mesnil-sur-Oger. His life-long association with these 77 distinct vineyard plots which comprise the family holdings, and an obsessive approach to understanding their distinct characteristics, the soils in which they grow and the climatic forces that shape their seasonal potential, has culminated in the Pur Terroir series of three limited edition Champagnes from the 2016 vintage.
The distinct and wonderful terroir of three of the most renowned villages in Champagne are artfully expressed in these three wines, presented here together in this unique and limited edition wooden box. supported by the freshness that we are glad to find on this terroir. Confectionery aromas and a touch reminding us sour candies give vivacity and come with a fresh ending, rhythmed by liquorice and lemon notes. Worked by more than 5 years of ageing on lees under natural cork, the balance of Pur Oger 2016 is fully expressed: generous but biting."
