2022 Howard Park Great Southern Riesling
$35.00
Growing in old and degraded soils of low fertility, Riesling works hard. It is demanding, sensitive, yet tough enough to thrive in the vagaries of this cool climate. Wines made of Riesling grapes are exceptionally revealing and critical of the environment in which they grow and the human interactions engaged to create them.
From its beginnings in 1986, Howard Park has made Riesling from the Great Southern wine region of Western Australia. Riesling from this region produces a fine and linear wine with great varietal purity and exactness.

TASTING NOTE
Vintage
Jasmine, citrus blossom, gardenia, and camomile rise from the glass, forming a pretty and poised bouquet. Underneath the abundant floral aromas lie bright notes of lime zest, nashi pear, and honeydew melon with beeswax, talc, and ginger lending complexity and intrigue. The palate is driven by a vibrant acidity that coats the mouth while elements of lemon pith and wet quartz add a textural dimension. Mid-palate, richer fruit flavours of white nectarine and Meyer lemon emerge adding depth. A wine of great presence, ripeness and length of flavour, drink it now to enjoy its lively acidity and tantalising fruit profile or cellar for up to 20 years to savour the layers of flavour yet to be revealed.
Food Match
