Gently earthy, classically rich and soft fruit from the ancient King’s vineyard, with touches of minerality and the ethereal scent of the neighbouring commune of Savigny les Beaune. Lovely weight and texture, with the complexity befitting a premier cru vineyard, perfumed and layered with savoury tannins. Uncork the bottle or decant ahead of drinking, it opens up to become more enticing given time.

Earthy, juicy cherry, vanilla and spice. Light to medium bodied, firm and maybe a bit bony, good push of tannin through the mouth, delicious earthy cherry flavour, then a cranberry juice crunchiness to the clean long finish. Super drinking here, and offers a bit of X-Factor too."
