Tasting Notes
In the cooler, continental climate of the Mount Baker region, our north facing, elevated sites, capture ample sun to fully ripen Cabernet. The fruit notes, reminiscent of a briary hedgerow, are ever so slightly untamed. Fragrant sweet spice, cocoa and creamy oak give a coddling warmth and dimension to this wild fruit character. More fine than full-bodied, the palate’s soft, plush red fruits give richness of flavour while the fine tannins build length and structure. The 2016 Howard Park Cabernets are defined by long ripe flavours, supple tannins, balance and elegance.Cellaring

"Deepish red colour with a slight tinge of purple, the bouquet reserved but fragrant with violets, spices and red fruits. The palate is rich and fruit-sweet, ripe and sunny, with full body and firm grip. A solid wine, albeit a touch straightforward at this stage. Age is needed: it's worth keeping."
