Tasting NotesFrom first glance at its cavernous crimson hue, it becomes clear this is a wine of power, depth and complexity. With 30% whole bunch maceration, expect lifted aromas of cinnamon and nutmeg spice accompanied by dazzling dark berries, rhubarb, orange rind, wet soil, black tea leaves, confectionary pencil shavings, and violets all culminating in an exquisite perfumed orchestra. The ripeness of the fruit builds richness and roundness on the palate which is delicately balanced by grippy tannin, underlying structural oak, and a pleasant acidity. The wine has a pure intensity and fundamental structure that ensures it will age elegantly, maintaining its lush fruit as well as gaining classic aged Pinot notes of game and earth.
