Tasting Notes
Wild strawberry, hedgerow fruit, savoury elements of charry oak and stalks, a high note of rose petal and a wisp of anise, float from the glass. The layering of flavour and texture on the palate is intricate and exciting to explore: deep berry fruits, fine silky tannins, dry minerals, subtle vanilla and smoky oak notes all in the process of integrating.Cellaring

"Rich, ripe & long. Appeal. Crowd pleaser. Serious."

"Almost heading in a bacon fat/maple/black cherry direction – the palate is seriously structured and pretty great. The succulent fruit kind of wavers on the mid palate… but this is very good indeed. I like it a lot. Kind of seductive in a firm handed sort of way. Quite forthright."

"Deepish red / purple colour, promising depth and brightness. The bouquet is fresh and bright with deep-set briary and dark cherry aromas, some dark plums, perfumed oak, and lots of depth and promise. The wine is lean and leggy, wiry in texture and yet also refined, tense and elegant. There's a lot of fruit-sweetness in the middle and it's ultimately quite a succulent style of pinot. Gorgeous flavour and oodles of charm."

The Real Review
"Good tannin, a pleasing earthiness, spice and Australian forest floor, with slightly jammy and juicy cherry fruit as a base. Toasted spices, clean acidity and good length of flavour. A little bottle age will help it along.""

"The 2018 Mount Barrow Pinot Noir is a standard-bearer for Pinot from this often-overlooked corner of Australia. Dramatic aromas of celery seed, roses and ripe cherries appear on the nose, while the medium to full-bodied palate is creamy-silky and plush yet shows terrific length and lift on the finish. Drink it over the next decade."
