"The 2012 Howard Park Grand Jeté is made from grapes grown on the south facing slopes of the Mt Barrow vineyard in Mount Barker, at an altitude of 380m. With base wine fermented in older French oak, a portion undergoing malolactic, followed by four years tirage age, this is a seriously well-crafted wine. With a restrained dosage of 6g/L, the flavours are truly able to shine. The wine has a very fine bead, and a beautiful savoury core with excellent depth, breadth and drive. "Australian sparkling wines have scooped 10 Gold and 14 Silver medals at the Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships (CSWWC). The awards, which are in their second year, attracted entries from 29 countries, with 127 Gold medals and 167 Silver medals awarded in 2017. France gained the largest haul of Gold medals with 51 golds and 40 silvers awarded.
The judges revealed they were also particularly impressed by the quality of the Australian, Italian and the English entries, with 10, 37 and 14 Gold medals awarded to these countries respectively. Tom Stevenson, Founder and Chairman of the Judges, said: “With the spread of technology and expertise world class sparkling can now be found in countries where the fizz was undrinkable or non-existent 10 years ago."

"It is a heady mix of lovely ripe lemons, some strawberry and ripe red apples, balanced on the palate by a gentle lemon peel acidity. It has some brioche notes with a little hazelnut as well, and very mild hints of honeydew melon. It's stunning to say the least. Have it as a starter for brunch or enjoy it with a light lunch – it’s the perfect drink for Christmas morning if you will, with some roasted ham or a dozen oysters to start the day. It is luxurious and deserves very good food to go with it."
